Who we are

Ryan Davis, President and founder of Garden Soil Pro, is a published Plant Biologist with many years experience in the lab and field, studying all things plant related.  He started work in plant genetics his first year of college (Harper Lab, University of Nevada Reno), because he loved learning about how plants grow.  

Ryan has contributed to plant science when he coauthored and/or contributed to several peer reviewed publications, including wild land plant studies, plant molecular biology discoveries, etc. 

Immediately after college, Ryan set up his own lab providing soil analysis in the greater Reno, NV area.  Later he and his family moved to TN, where Ryan worked for several years in area labs, before leaving to start his own businesses. 

Everyone at Soil Pro is passionate about plants and all things green.  We do this work because it is what we love.  We do this because we want to, not because we need to.   

We offer a variety of consulting services, all targeted on improving your gardens potential. We start with in-person local soil testing / soil sampling, and use soil analysis combined with observations and other site measurements to inform you of exactly what your garden soil needs. Whether you are growing in soil, hydroponics, greenhouses, or anywhere else plants might grow, we have the tools and expertise to help!

Our soil analysis and garden consulting services are available to anyone in the East TN area (Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Maryville, or anywhere in the region). We work with everyone that grows plants in this area and we will work with you to find an approach that is best for you, your plants, and your resources.
