Our Process: About Soil Testing and Analysis

We come to your property, we take samples from multiple locations, we test for nutrients and other factors (after we leave, back at our lab), we take other measurements of the area(s) in question with an eye toward plant growth factors, we find out what you want to grow and the resources you employ.  

We can test for N, P, & K (basic test, our most popular service), or test for many more factors.  Our scientists know and love plants and helping things grow is our passion.  We enjoy seeing how our work can help you be a better and more efficient gardener.  

Using our findings, we create a custom tailored report that maps our findings, and we craft recommendations based on your input from earlier.  

We will take core samples, in person, at your property.  We then use industry standard chemical analysis to establish ion concentrations within your soil, and your soil pH.  Because gardens cover larger areas, you may be growing different plants in different areas,  and solute concentrations are unlikely to be uniform, we test and map our findings to illustrate how concentrations vary over your entire garden.

This process allows you to apply more or less soil modifiers in different areas, change irrigation strategies, and otherwise take steps to maximize garden potential.
